You see, there’s these two brothers, Jason and Travis Kelce, both big ol’ football stars now, both from Cincinnati in their college days. Now they’re famous NFL players, but let me tell ya, they weren’t always big shots. Jason went to the University of Cincinnati, started back in 2006, and played all the way through 2010. His younger brother, Travis, he joined him a couple years later, from 2008 to 2012. So for a couple of years there, they were playin’ on the same team, the Cincinnati Bearcats. Folks around here still talk about how those boys tore up that field together.
Both Jason and Travis have sure made names for themselves, you know. Jason got drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011, and he’s stuck with them ever since. Won a Super Bowl with ‘em, too. Travis, well, he’s been playin’ for the Kansas City Chiefs, and he’s done pretty darn well himself. He’s got his own Super Bowl win and is known all over the country for being one of the best tight ends in the game. Quite a bit of pride for folks from Cincinnati, lemme tell ya.
Now, these boys might’ve left Ohio, but Ohio ain’t ever left them, if ya know what I mean. Jason and his family live over in Pennsylvania now, close to Philly, while Travis, he’s settled in Leawood, Kansas, just a hop away from Kansas City. Big fancy places, both of ‘em, but I bet they think about them old college days now and again. They both still come back to Cincinnati when they can, though, just to see folks and talk about their Bearcats days.
The brothers came back to Cincinnati not too long ago, did a big ol’ live podcast recording of that show they have, “New Heights.” Yep, they were right there at Fifth Third Arena, in front of a packed house, chattin’ about life, family, and football. A lot of folks showed up just to get a look at ’em. Cincinnati sure does love its own, especially when they get out in the world and do so well like these two. They had a real fun time, even did a little ceremony there and talked about their time at UC like it was yesterday.

Back at UC, they even did a surprise commencement event where they got to walk across the stage again, diplomas in hand, just like any ol’ college kid. Folks loved that.

Cincinnati shaped ‘em, and even as they’ve gone on to bigger things, they never forget to give back or come back to see old friends. And folks in Cincinnati, well, they got two NFL stars to brag about, and who wouldn’t be proud of that?
All in all, Jason and Travis Kelce are just two local boys who made it big. From playin’ for the Bearcats to winnin’ Super Bowls, they’ve done it all. And through all the fame and fancy livin’, they’ve stayed true to their roots. That’s what makes folks around here keep talkin’ about ‘em, and why, no matter where they live now, they’ll always be Cincinnati boys at heart.
