Well, let me tell ya, this young fella, Bryson Stott, he’s been a good one for them Phillies. They done signed him up for a whole year back in 2024, an’ it’s for 2 million 870 thousand dollars, wouldn’t that be somethin’! That’s a lotta money for a kid still comin’ up in the world of baseball. He ain’t no rookie no more, but he’s still workin’ hard out there, ya know? In 2025, he’ll be makin’ the same amount, 2 million 870 thousand dollars, and it’s all guaranteed too, so he ain’t got nothin’ to worry about there. It’s a good deal for both him and the team, cause they got him locked down through 2027.
Now, Bryson, he’s a second baseman and sometimes a shortstop, dependin’ on what the team needs. He’s a left-handed hitter and right-handed thrower, stands at 6 feet 3 inches, weighs about 200 pounds. Tall fella, ain’t he? He’s got a bit of muscle on him, makes for a good player to have in the infield. In fact, he had a good year in 2023, with a .298 batting average, which ain’t too shabby for someone still learnin’ the ropes at the big leagues.
Now, I heard tell that 2024 is the last year of his pre-arbitration, which means he’s still pretty cheap for the Phillies. They don’t have to pay him much yet, but once he hits arbitration, that’s when things start gettin’ real serious. He won’t be a free agent until he turns 30, which means the Phillies got a lotta time to figure out what they wanna do with him. Ain’t no hurry, they can keep him around and see if he keeps on doin’ the job.
Now, the Phillies, they got a whole lotta money tied up in other folks too. They finished 2024 with a payroll of about 261 million dollars, and that’s just to make sure they’re playin’ fair with the competitive balance tax, whatever that is. Zack Wheeler, one of their pitchers, he’s got a big ol’ contract that starts up next year too, 42 million a year, so that’s a lotta cash goin’ around. But even with all them big contracts, they still got room for Bryson Stott, and that’s a good thing. He’s been bringin’ value to the team, and they’re gonna keep him around for a good while.
The Phillies signed him up for one year back in 2023 too, for a smaller amount of 734 thousand dollars. That was a good deal for the Phillies, especially since he was still gettin’ his feet wet in the big leagues. Ain’t no shame in startin’ small, ya gotta prove yourself first. But now, looks like they done figured out he’s worth a lot more, so they done gave him a real nice contract for 2024 and 2025. Ain’t no doubt that they got big plans for this fella.
Well, I reckon that’s about all I got to say about Bryson Stott and his contract. He’s a good player, and the Phillies are lucky to have him. I sure do hope he keeps up the good work and helps ’em bring home some more wins. Time will tell, but for now, he’s sittin’ pretty with that nice contract, and I’m sure he’s lookin’ forward to all the good things comin’ his way in the future.
