Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this MLB The Show 24, and this two-way player thing, you know, the fellas who can pitch and hit. It ain’t easy, I tell ya, but it can be done, even if you’re as green as a spring onion.

MLB The Show 24 Two-Way Player Guide: Hitting and Pitching Tips

First things first, hitting. That’s the real bread and butter, see? More important than throwin’ the ball, if you ask me. You gotta be smart about it, though. Don’t go swingin’ at everything like a wild chicken.

  • Use that normal swing most of the time, like, maybe 80% of the time.
  • But, if you get a good count, like 3-1 or 3-0, that’s when you let it rip with a power swing. Just make sure that ball is right where you want it, right down the middle, you hear?
  • And if you got one of them big strong fellas at the plate, or you need a fly ball to get a runner home, that’s another good time to power swing.

Now, about them red zones, when you’re hittin’. Every fella’s different, see? Some like them high balls, some like ’em low and outside. You gotta figure out where your fella likes it, where his red zone is. Them fellas with the whole strike zone red, well, they’re the best, ain’t they? They can hit just about anything.

Okay, now let’s talk about pitchin’. It ain’t just about throwin’ hard, it’s about being smart. And this game, it’s got all sorts of ways to pitch. There’s this “pulse” and “classic” way, which is more like real life, you know? It ain’t just about pushing buttons, it’s about feel and how good your fella actually is.

Then there’s this “pinpoint” and “analog” stuff. That’s more like a video game, if you ask me. I don’t think it’s right that you can take some scrub pitcher, some 70 overall fella, and make him pitch like a Cy Young winner just because you’re good at pushin’ buttons. It should be about how good the pitcher is, not how good you are at the game, see? That doesn’t make sense now does it?

But that’s what they have. If you want to use it, I’m not going to stop you. But just letting you know, pulse and classic is more real.

Being a two-way player, that’s a whole different story. You gotta be good at both hittin’ and pitchin’, and that ain’t easy. It takes time, and you gotta practice. You gotta work on your hitting, work on your pitching, and work on your stamina. It’s a long season, you know. You gotta be able to last.

When you are batting, don’t just swing at everything. Be patient. Look for your pitch. And when you are pitching, don’t just throw fastballs down the middle. Mix it up. Throw some curveballs, some changeups, some sliders. Keep them batters guessin’.

And don’t forget about the mental game. Baseball is a tough game, and it can get you down if you let it. You gotta stay positive, even when things ain’t goin’ your way. You gotta believe in yourself, even when nobody else does.

Now, if you’re gonna be one of these two-way fellas, you got to manage your energy. You can’t be pitchin’ a whole game and then expect to be hittin’ bombs the next day without bein’ tired. You gotta find a balance, you know? Maybe pitch a few innings, then DH the next game, somethin’ like that. Gotta be smart about it.

And don’t be afraid to experiment. Try different things. See what works for you. There ain’t no one right way to play this game. Just gotta find what works for you and your fella.

And most importantly, have fun! It’s just a game, after all. Don’t get too stressed out about it. Just relax and enjoy yourself. That’s what baseball is all about ain’t it? And remember, hitting’s the most important, and MLB the Show 24 is a fun game, so get to it. Just remember what I said about those swings and pitches, and you’ll be just fine.

So there you have it. That’s my two cents on this two-way player business in MLB The Show 24. It ain’t gospel, mind you, just my way of lookin’ at things. You go out there and do what works for you. Just remember to be patient, be smart, and have fun. And for goodness sake, find those red zones when hittin’! Now, go on, git!
