Well, howdy there, y’all! Let’s talk about this here Waste Management Phoenix Open map thing, ya hear? I ain’t no fancy golf expert, but I reckon I can tell ya a thing or two about gettin’ around that there tournament. It’s a big ol’ shindig, lots of folks and lots of walkin’, so pay attention now.

First off, they call it the “WM Phoenix Open,” somethin’ about the PGA Tour and FedEx Cup. Sounds highfalutin, but it just means a buncha fellas hittin’ little white balls around. And let me tell ya, there’s a whole heap of folks watchin’ ’em do it. They say it’s the most excitin’ tournament, the one with the biggest crowds. I reckon that’s true, ’cause I seen pictures, and it looks like ants at a picnic.

Now, this here tournament, it ain’t always been called the “WM Phoenix Open.” Used to be somethin’ else, “The Phoenix Open” or somethin’, and then somethin’ about “FBR.” Don’t matter much now, I guess. What matters is it’s been at this TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course place since way back in 1987. That’s a long time, even for an old gal like me.

  • TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course: That’s the place, ya hear? Big place, lots of holes. They say it’s a “stadium course,” which I guess means there’s lots of places for folks to sit and watch.
  • Hole 16: This is the one they all talk about. They say it’s a “must-see.” I ain’t seen it myself, but from what I hear, it’s like a big party. Folks gettin’ rowdy and cheerin’ and whatnot. But be warned, they say you gotta wait a long time to get in there, especially Thursday through Sunday. Hours, they say! If you wanna get in easy, go on Wednesday, but it won’t be as wild, see?

Now, about that map. I ain’t got one in front of me, but I reckon it shows you where all the holes are, where to get somethin’ to eat and drink, and where the restrooms are. That’s important, ya know? Nothin’ worse than havin’ to go and not knowin’ where to go. They probably got maps all over the place, so just grab one when you get there. And don’t be shy about askin’ for directions. Most folks are friendly enough, even if they look a little fancy.

This Nick Taylor fella, he won it this year. Beat out some other fella named Charley Hoffman in a playoff. Good for him, I say. Musta been a nail-biter, all them folks watchin’ and cheerin’. They play this thing in the desert, they say. Hot, I bet. Gotta wear your sunscreen, or you’ll end up lookin’ like a wrinkled old prune, like me!

And get this, they say Sunday ain’t so crowded ’cause of some “Super Bowl” thing. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that, but I guess folks would rather watch football than golf on a Sunday. Still, they say you gotta wait a long time to see that Hole 16, so be prepared. Bring some water, and maybe a hat. And wear comfortable shoes, ’cause you’ll be doin’ a lot of walkin’. They say the course is nearly three somethin’ somethin’ long. That’s a lot of walkin’ for these old bones.

So, that’s about all I know about this here Waste Management Phoenix Open map and the tournament itself. It’s a big event, lots of folks, lots of fun. Just remember to be patient, be polite, and don’t forget your sunscreen. And if you see that Hole 16, you tell me all about it, ya hear? ‘Cause this old gal ain’t likely to see it herself.

Key Takeaways for the Waste Management Phoenix Open:

  • It’s a big, popular golf tournament.
  • Held at TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course.
  • Hole 16 is famous for its rowdy crowds.
  • Wednesday is the best day to avoid long lines.
