This Stephen A. Smith, he talks a lot about basketball, don’t he? He’s always yappin’ about the players and the games. But you know what? I heard he used to play, too! Back in the day, they say. Now, he weren’t no superstar, not like that Curry fella. That Stephen Curry, now he can shoot! I heard he gets, like, 24 points every game. That’s a lot of points, you know! But this Stephen A. Smith, his stats ain’t so hot.

They say he got hurt. Yep, messed up his knee or somethin’. That’s what I heard, anyway. So, he couldn’t play no more. That is why his basketball career end up quickly. Too bad, huh? But he sure can talk about it now, can’t he? He’s on that ESPN all the time, talkin’ and talkin’. He must get paid good for all that talkin’. I heard he makes, like, a million dollars! Maybe even 12 million! That’s a lot of money. More money than I ever seen, that’s for sure!

Now, I don’t know much about this stats stuff. But I know this Stephen A. Smith, he sure does know his basketball. Even if he couldn’t play so good, he sure can talk about it. He knows all the players, all the teams. He can tell ya who’s gonna win, who’s gonna lose. He said his basketball career was not good, but people still talk about it now.

He was a writer, too, I heard. Wrote for some newspaper, somethin’ about sports. Started back in the 90s, they say. That’s a long time ago! He was in, uh, Philadelphia, I think. Wrote all about the games and the players. He must be pretty smart, to do all that writin’. But, he is a sports journalist, I heard. He is 57 now, that’s what I heard.

And he’s got that big job on ESPN. He’s doin’ alright for himself, I’d say. Even with his basketball career went wrong.

That ESPN, they must like him a lot. Keepin’ him on there all the time. He must be good at his job. He may not have those good player stats but he knows how to talk about ’em, that is for sure. He must know somethin’ about that basketball stuff to be on that TV for all these years.
