Okay, so I tried this “Once Called NYT Crossword” thing today. It was, um, interesting, to say the least.
First off, I found this app. It wasn’t in the usual places, but I stumbled upon it. I downloaded it and opened it up, no problem there. I saw they’ve got all these different crosswords.
Getting Started
- I picked a puzzle that looked kind of easy. I mean, I’m not a total newbie, but I’m no expert either.
- The grid popped up, and I started filling in the blanks. Some of the clues were pretty straightforward. You know, like “opposite of black” or something. Easy peasy.
The Struggle is Real
But then, things got a little hairy. Some of these clues, man, they were tough! I stared at the screen, tapped my pen, scratched my head. Nothing.
- I tried using the hints. They give you a letter or two, which helps sometimes. But other times, it’s like, “Thanks, I already knew that letter was in there somewhere!”
- I even googled a few things. Don’t judge me! It’s not cheating, it’s, uh, “research.” Yeah, that’s it. Research.
Victory (Sort Of)
After a while, I actually managed to fill in most of the puzzle. There were a few blanks left, but I was pretty proud of myself. I mean, I didn’t finish it completely, but I got pretty far. I closed the app and maybe I will try it tomorrow again.
So, yeah, that was my experience with “Once Called NYT Crossword.” It’s definitely a challenge, but it’s kind of fun in a brain-bending sort of way. I guess I’ll try it again sometime. Maybe I’ll even finish a whole puzzle one day. Who knows?
Anyway, that’s my story. Not the most exciting, I know, but hey, it’s something, right?
