Okay, so I’ve been meaning to put together a list of UFC fighters from Mexico, and today I finally got around to it. It wasn’t as straightforward as I initially thought!

First, I started by just trying to remember some names off the top of my head. I knew a few big ones, like Brandon Moreno and Yair Rodriguez, but I wanted to make sure I had a pretty complete list.

So, I fired up Google and typed in “UFC fighters from Mexico”. I got a bunch of articles and lists, but many were outdated, or just focused on the champions. I wanted to go a bit deeper.

Digging Deeper

I spent a good hour clicking through different websites, cross-referencing names, and making sure the fighters were actually still active in the UFC. Some sites listed fighters who had moved to other promotions, so I had to double-check everything.

  • I used the official UFC website to verify if a fighter was still on the roster. That was probably the most reliable source.
  • I also checked out some MMA news sites and forums. These were helpful for finding up-and-coming fighters who might not be as well-known.
  • It was actually kind of tricky! I kept finding names, then realizing they weren’t in the UFC anymore, or they were born in Mexico but represented another country. It was a whole process.

Finally, after all that digging, I managed to compile a solid list. I feel pretty good about it – it’s way more comprehensive than what I started with.

I even organized my list from featherweight to lightweight!

It was a bit more work than I expected, but I’m glad I did it. Now I have a good reference for when I’m watching fights and want to know who’s representing Mexico in the Octagon!
