Alright, so I wanted to figure out how to hide the UI in Genshin Impact the other day. You know, for taking some nice screenshots without all the clutter like the map and character icons everywhere. My first instinct was just to dive straight into the game’s settings.
I opened up the main menu, went to ‘Settings’, and started poking around. Checked under ‘Graphics’, then ‘Display’, maybe ‘Controls’? Nah. I scrolled through pretty much everything in there, looking for a simple checkbox or a toggle switch that said something like “Hide UI” or “Interface Visibility”. Couldn’t find anything like that directly in the main settings. A bit strange, I thought, most games have something like this easily accessible.
So, scratching my head a bit, I remembered there’s that ‘Kamera’ gadget you can equip. I went into my inventory, found it, and put it on. Then, back in the game world, I pressed the button to use it. It brings up a sort of viewfinder, and yeah, the main UI disappears while you’re lining up the shot with the gadget. It’s okay for a quick snap, I guess. But it wasn’t quite what I wanted. You don’t get much control, and the UI is still there until you use the gadget.
Finding the Real Deal
I figured there had to be a better way. I went back to the main Paimon menu again. This time I looked more carefully at the icons on the side. And there it was, plain as day – a little camera icon. Clicked on that, labelled “Take Photo”.
This was it. Going into this mode completely changed the screen. The game itself paused, which was neat. And then a whole new interface popped up specifically for taking pictures. Right there within this photo mode, I saw options to actually hide the UI completely. Like, a proper button for it.
Once I hit that, boom, perfectly clean screen. Just the game world. From there, I could move the camera around freely, zoom in and out, change angles, even apply filters and make my character do different poses or change expressions. This gave me exactly what I needed – total control to frame the shot perfectly without any interface elements in the way.
So, yeah, the process was basically: ignore the main settings for a general UI toggle (it isn’t there), and instead, always go to the Paimon Menu and select the “Take Photo” option. That’s the dedicated mode where you can properly hide everything and get those clean shots. The Kamera gadget is more of a quick, basic snapshot tool.
