Alright, let me tell you about my time figuring out those Dream Nursery riddles in Genshin. Stumbled upon these things while running around Sumeru, you know, doing the Aranyaka questline. These Aranara fellas, they give you these vague little rhymes, and you’re supposed to figure out what they mean and where to go.

Honestly, at first, I was a bit stumped. The clues felt kinda out there. Like, “a place where flowers grow facing the dawn” or something like that. My first thought was, “Okay, where the heck is that specifically?” Sumeru’s huge, right? Lots of flowers, lots of places facing east.
Figuring Out the First One
So, for one of the first riddles I tackled, I remember it mentioning something about stones and water, I think? My process was pretty straightforward, just a bit of trial and error.
- First, I reread the riddle carefully. Pulled up the quest description, read the Aranara’s hint again.
- Then, I opened the map. I started looking for areas that vaguely matched the description near where I got the riddle. Scanned around Vanarana and the surrounding forests.
- I teleported to a waypoint I thought was close. Started running around, keeping an eye out for anything unusual or matching the clue – weird rock formations, spots near rivers or ponds.
- This took a while. I definitely went to a few wrong spots first. Found some chests, fought some fungi, typical Genshin stuff, but not the riddle spot.
- Eventually, I spotted a location that seemed right. It had the kind of stones mentioned, near some water. There was this specific kind of glowing plant or marker you often see for these Aranara quests.
- Walked up to it. The prompt to interact or do something appeared. Sometimes you gotta play the Vintage Lyre, other times you just interact. I think for this one I had to play the lyre song you learn from the Aranara.
- Boom! The little animation played, the Aranara popped up, or the chest appeared. Felt good to finally crack it.
The Rest of the Riddles
After figuring out the first couple, the rest started to click a bit better. You get the hang of what the Aranara mean by certain phrases. They often involve using the Lyre near specific landmarks or following little particle trails.
It mostly involved:
- Getting the riddle from an Aranara in the Dream Nursery version of Vanarana.
- Heading back to the ‘real’ Vanarana or the designated area mentioned in the clue.
- Searching the area based on landmarks – giant trees, special flowers, ruins, waterfalls.
- Looking for the interactable spot, often marked subtly.
- Playing the Vintage Lyre using the correct song.
- Collecting the reward, usually a chest.
It wasn’t super complex, more like a scavenger hunt across specific parts of Sumeru. Some clues were definitely trickier than others, making me run around in circles for a bit. But overall, it was a neat little activity, made exploring those areas feel a bit more purposeful. Plus, you get some primos and materials from the chests, which is always nice.
Yeah, that was my experience with those riddles. Just took some patience, map-checking, and running around. Pretty satisfying when you finally solve each one and see that chest pop up.
