Okay, so let me tell you about my experience trying to request a trade in MLB The Show. It wasn’t exactly straightforward, lemme tell ya.

MLB The Show Trade Request: What You Need to Know Guide?

First, I started my “Road to the Show” career. You gotta get into a team before you can even think about leaving, right? So, I created my player, went through the draft, and landed with the [Insert a fictional or real team name here]. I was hyped!

Then, I played a bunch of games. I’m talkin’ weeks, maybe even a month in game time. The goal was to get my player’s stats up, prove I was a valuable asset. You can’t just demand a trade when you’re hitting .150, ya know?

I started digging through the menus. This is where it got tricky. I was expecting a clear “Request Trade” button somewhere, but no such luck. I went into my player profile, the team management sections, even the settings – nothing obvious.

I experimented with player relationships. I figured maybe if I pissed off my manager or got into a feud with a teammate, it would trigger a trade request option. So, I started giving snarky answers in interviews and intentionally messing up plays (don’t judge me!). Didn’t work. My relationship with the manager went down, but no trade request option popped up.

Finally, I found it! After scouring the internet (should have done this earlier, I know), I discovered that you can only request a trade under certain circumstances. The key is your player’s overall rating (OVR) and the team’s performance.

Here’s the deal:

  • Your player needs to have a decent OVR (usually 80+ seems to work best).
  • Your team needs to be doing poorly. Like, REALLY poorly. Losing record, out of playoff contention.
  • You need to be performing well, proving you’re not the problem.

Once those conditions were met, the option appeared! It was hidden within the “Player Control” section (I think – honestly, I was so relieved I don’t remember the exact menu). There it was, a beautiful, glorious button that said something like “Demand Release” or “Request Trade.”

I clicked it! I chose the teams I was interested in (usually teams with good records who needed my position). I waited… nervously.

A few in-game days later… BAM! I was traded to the [Insert a fictional or real team name here]! Finally! It took some serious grinding and menu-diving, but I got my trade.

So, the lesson here is: Be patient, play well, make sure your team sucks, and then dig through those menus. The trade request is in there somewhere. Good luck!
