So I’ve been a huge tennis fan for years, and Novak Djokovic, man, that guy’s a legend. I’ve always been curious about the gear he uses, especially his racket. It’s not every day you get to peek behind the curtain and see what the pros are really using, right?

Djokovic racket specs: What kind of racket does Djokovic use?

I started digging around, and let me tell you, it’s a whole rabbit hole. Turns out, Djokovic doesn’t use the racket you see in all those ads. Nope, he’s got a custom-made one, a pro stock model called PT 346.1 from Head. They make it look like the Head Graphene 360 Speed Pro for the public, but it’s not the same beast.

Here’s what I did:

  • First, I hit up all the big tennis forums and fan sites. I figured if anyone knew the real deal, it’d be those folks.
  • Then, I scoured the websites of major tennis retailers. I was looking for any hint, any clue about this mysterious PT 346.1.
  • I even went back and watched some of Djokovic’s old matches, trying to get a good look at his racket. Crazy, I know, but I was determined.

What I found out:

This PT 346.1 is based on some older models from Head – the Liquidmetal Radical Tour, TiRadical, and iRadical. Apparently, these were a big deal back in the early 2000s. So, Djokovic’s racket has some serious history behind it.

Now, about the strings. The guy uses a mix of Babolat vs Natural Gut 17 and ALU Power 16L. From what I gather, he’s got 18 vertical strings and 20 horizontal ones. And the tension? About 25 kg on those vertical strings. It’s all about control, you see. These rackets are heavy, over 315 grams, with smaller heads and thin, flexible beams. They’re designed for players who really know their stuff, like top-level club players and, of course, pros like Djokovic.

Here is how to say in short:

I spent hours piecing all this information together. It wasn’t easy, but it was definitely worth it. It’s fascinating to see how much thought and customization goes into a pro’s equipment. It’s not just about hitting the ball; it’s a whole science. And for a tennis nut like me, this kind of stuff is gold.

So, there you have it. That’s the lowdown on Djokovic’s racket. It’s not just a racket; it’s a piece of tennis history, customized to perfection for one of the greatest players of all time. Pretty cool, huh?
