Okay, so I got this idea to make a Michael Jordan cutout, you know, for fun. I started by grabbing a huge piece of cardboard from an old appliance box. Gotta love recycling, right?
Finding the Right Image
First things first, I needed a good picture of MJ. I jumped online and spent a good hour just browsing images. I wanted something iconic, you know? Finally, I found the perfect one – Jordan mid-air, about to dunk. Classic!
Printing and Scaling
Now, this was tricky. I don’t have a fancy projector, so I had to get creative. I ended up printing the image across multiple sheets of regular paper. It looked like a giant puzzle. Then, using a grid system (basically drawing lines on the image and the cardboard), I started painstakingly transferring the image, piece by piece, onto the cardboard. It took forever, but I was determined.

The Cutting Begins
With the outline finally done, it was time to cut. I grabbed my trusty box cutter and got to work. Safety first, always be careful with sharp objects. Slowly but surely, I started cutting along the lines. The curves around his arms and legs were the hardest. I had to take several breaks because my hand started cramping.
Finishing Touches
After what felt like an eternity, I finally cut out the entire figure. It was huge! I stood back to admire my work. It wasn’t perfect, some of the edges were a little rough, but it was unmistakably Michael Jordan. I cleaned all carboard hair from my room.
I’m thinking of maybe adding some color later, but for now, I’m pretty happy with my giant cardboard MJ. It’s definitely a conversation starter!
