Alright, so I decided I wanted to switch things up a bit with my hair. Been seeing Jey Uso wrestle, you know, Main Event Jey Uso, and his haircut always looked pretty sharp. That fade with a bit more length on top? Yeah, that’s the one. Seemed clean, easy to handle. So I thought, why not give it a try?
First thing I did was grab my phone. Spent a good bit of time searching for clear pictures of his current look. You know how it is, wrestlers change styles sometimes. Found a few good shots – front, side, back – saved them right to my phone gallery. Figured showing the barber exactly what I meant was way easier than trying to describe it and hoping for the best.
Getting it Done
So I headed down to my usual barber shop. Walked in, waited my turn, usual stuff. When I sat in the chair, I pulled out my phone. Showed my barber the pictures I saved. “Thinking something like this,” I told him, pointing at the Jey Uso pics. He took a good look, nodded, seemed to get the idea right away which was a relief. We talked for a minute about how high the fade should go and how much length to keep on top.
Then he got started. First, the clippers came out. He began working on the sides, starting low and gradually fading it up. Took his time, making sure it was blended smooth. That part always tickles a bit, you know? Then he moved to the back, doing the same fading technique. Used different guard sizes, making sure that transition was clean. You could hear the buzz of the clippers, kinda relaxing actually.
Once the sides and back were faded nice and tight, he worked on the top. He didn’t cut too much off, just trimmed it to give it some shape and make sure it blended okay with the faded sides. Used scissors mostly for this part. A little bit of thinning maybe, to reduce bulk.
After the cutting, he finished it off. Lined up the edges around the forehead and neck with the trimmers for that extra sharp look. Put a bit of product in, styled it roughly like Jey’s. Quick brush off, spin the chair around to face the mirror.
The Result
And there it was. Honestly? Turned out pretty good! The fade was clean, the top had enough length to style but wasn’t messy. Looked pretty close to the pictures I showed him. Felt fresh, you know? Definitely a change I was happy with. It’s a pretty straightforward cut, not too wild, but still got that modern look. Maintaining it seems like it’ll be easy enough, just need regular trims to keep the fade sharp. Thumbs up from me on this one. Felt good walking out with the new cut.
